McIntyre, Two Lumberton High School Students Honored on Capitol Hill
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mike McIntyre and two students from Lumberton High School were recently honored on Capitol Hill at the annual Washington Workshops Congressional Seminar.
As high-achieving students in their school, Hayden Martin and Raleigh Forrest were selected as “McIntyre Scholars” by the Washington Workshops Foundation, in honor of Congressman McIntyre, for a one-week leadership program on government and politics that Congressman McIntyre himself participated in as a student at Lumberton High School.
Congressman McIntyre said, “It’s a pleasure to welcome the next generation of leaders here to Washington D.C. and talk with them about their vision for the future of our great nation! Congratulations to Hayden Martin and Raleigh Forrest for being selected from Lumberton High School to join the 2014 seminar!”
Congressman McIntyre was also recognized with the Award of Merit and Achievement by the Washington Workshops Foundation for his support of human values, his ideas of good government and participatory democracy, and his unique commitment to American youth and future leaders during his time in Congress.
During the seminar, Congressman McIntyre addressed all the participants, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with determination and dedication.
